Don Randall, Founder of Randall Amplifiers, Dies at 91
On December 23 our founder, Don Randall, died of age related causes in his home in Santa Ana, CA.
As one of the founders of Fender Musical instruments, Randall was a giant and a legend in the music industry. He was responsible for naming the Fender Telecaster & Stratocaster, 2 of the most iconic guitars in history. Mr. Randall also negotiated the sale of Fender to CBS in 1965 and became vice president and general manager of Fender Musical Instrument and Fender Sales divisions until 1969.
He started Randall Amplifiers in 1970 in Irvine, CA and sold it in 1987. The current U.S. Music Corp. purchased Randall Amplifiers in the mid 1990s.
